Check out the classic 'Innervisions' for starters. You can get this in
just about any second hand record store for next to nothing. Also try the
'Songs in the Key of Life' album, which again is cheap 2nd hand, and has
a couple of strong tracks (particularly 'Black Man', which has a really
strong groove). His other funky stuff (respect to Kool & the Gang!) tends
to be a lot more expensive, so give those two a try and see if you like
it before buying anything else.
