I think their recorded work is pretty brilliant, particularly their recent
album "Happy Happer," on which they've really managed to put a very solid
sound together (I've found their earlier singles and first album to be be
a bit unfulfilling, frankly). They are indeed a mix of dub, jazz, grungy
rock, and tech, and their recent projects have been consistantly "spacy."
I preface by saying I like their recorded work, but I can't imagine that
they'd be very interesting live unless you are familiar with their albums.
That is, as far as I know, alot of their stuff is prerecorded and sequenced
with just one guy on keys and one on vocals. They may have some
interesting guests though, and the live sound is likely to nice. Just look
at it this
way, it'd cost $35US just to see them in Tokyo...
