Blue Note shame

I am one pissed off person, because:

I went to Wednesday night's Blue Note Allstar Jam for the 1st time in
ages and approximately 10 people turned up. This is at the Blue Note club,
Hoxton Square, London, where the Bass Clef used to be, and it's a good club.
And no I don't work there - I just went down with my guitar because it's a
jam and I love playing.

10 people does not an audience make - I've been there when it was
packed to the rafters with happy, sweating, acid-jazzers (even on jam
nights). It's my favourite club in London, and Wednesday nights are my
favourite nights. And I realize that if audience responses are as
underwhelming as this then this jam isn't going to go on much longer - after
all the guys who run it don't do it for charity.

Maybe I'm being selfish. Maybe no-one else is interested in live,
improvised, funky music. Maybe there's somewhere better to go on a Wednesday
night in London and I'm missing out (not that I care). Whatever, I feel a
bit put out. Oh well - I guess that's life really....

Simon.
