Hello there new subscriber with impeccable taste:
Abstract Truth are, unfortunately for most on this list who are unable to
see or hear them as of yet, indeed "almost perfect" as you said and I'm glad
you caught that Nell's show because they don't play very often. And the
Jazzhole are also brilliant performers IMHO, to answer your question.

I happened to speak with the leader of Abstract Truth yesterday who told me
that an EP recording is on the way in December so be on the lookout... they
use a huge horn section like in their live shows which is so smooth and even
includes a virtuoso french horn. I heard advance snippets and it's
beautiful, very warm, very analog was what they are going for...I forget the
name of the indie putting them out...

And the Jazzhole's brand new LP is definitely worth checking out -- how come
none of you on the list ever talk about it? Is it hard to find out there in
the rest of the world or something? It shouldn't be because it is
distributed by a major...The Jazzhole are even producing my band's stuff --
we've been in and out of the studio all summer with them and we were
supposed to be finished months ago.

Stay tuned to this list for more New York happenings on the scene...
Over and out,

Hey from a new subscriber.

Any Jazzhole commentary out there?

I recently saw an unrecorded acid jazz project: Abstract Truth at
(nyc venue) Nells. Right between jazz and hiphop. Almost perfect.

I'm an NYC engineer/guitar/sitar/keyboards and I'm available for
collaborations.
