BNH:
I've been playing a promo 12" I received a little while back from
Delicious Vinyl. There's not much info on the sticker attached to the
white label...

The Brand New Heavies - Mind Trips
Side A
1. SuperStar Remix
2. Durham Remix
Side B
1. Mind Trips (BNH Remix)
2. Bang

Nice. "Mind Trips" was one of my picks off their last album. "Bang" is a
new cut I believe (can't find the album right now).

BRASS SF:
This Friday night, September 29, at 330 Ritch Street, San Francisco.
DJs Daz (LA), Cokni O'Dire (LA), Mark Farina (Chicago & SF), Gerry V (who?)

Have some free spots on the guest list - email me personally, if you're
interested.

DESIGN, IMHO:
(I'm a graphic designer too.) Another month (til James picks a CD-R) of
tossing names, designs, etc. Unfortunately I think this will reach
critical mEss. Don't get me wrong - I think it's great lots of people are
participating in the discussions. But I personally think great design is
difficult to achieve by majority rule. After much protracted wrangling,
the design (including the title and liner notes) could be a less than
great compromise of ideas floating about. I would rather entrust the
design process to a designated individual whose design sensibilities and
aesthetic we value. He/she could still be open to serious suggestions.
Maybe leave the voting to the title and who does what (design, liner
notes, etc.).

TAPE SAMPLER:
Does this thing have to be CD only? We could do a tape sampler easy. The
burden of proof then is where it always should have been - with the
music, and the contributors.
