I think petrol and lighter fluid are both solvents, meaning that you are
probably dissolving your record away. I wouldn't try this one at home. I bet
it makes the record look great, though.
Another thing is that I've heard (maybe even on this list) that you will
eventually get a buildup if you use too much record cleaner which will
deteriorate the sound.
I just use a carbon fibre brush, seems to work pretty well.
