Not really true. Among jazzers, he's known as a consummate arrangeer
and hard bop pianist more than as a BN producer. He wrote and
arranged a lot of little-big-band stuff (octets, nonets, etc.).
For instance, "The Right Touch" album you mentioned is a good
example of this stuff.
