don't you just love it when the detroit crew gets into our groove?!? whether
it's Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin, Underground Resistance, Drexciya (one of my
fav. artists),... it's most of the time all good. Shouts to Detroit!

Tortoise has been getting better and better in the last couple of years. I
saw them live this month, opening for Dub Syndicate, and the general feeling
was that it became THEIR show, lots' of people were there for them, and
almost everybody I met agreed they did much better than Dub Syndicate,
despite some technical problems (2 min. breaks between songs). But then
again, they are a local band and Chicago loves its artists. For those of you
in Chicago and into dub, check out the Empty Bottle after 10pm on sunday
nite (cheap drinks!) and also The Paramount room at Shelter the last friday
of each month (Deadly Dragon Sound System or something like that, put on by
Matt from Organico Records).
