I forgot to send this last week.

Well, I have made two acid jazz tapes for my nephew [Zachary; now 1 and
1/3]. The first was given at birth. It was generally the poppy (but good)
side of acid jazz [including UFO, JTQ, others, and "Still a Friend of Mine"
as well]. He loved "And The Band Played the Boogie" by NW1 best (via DJ
Food and Grant Green and later US3's "Yukka Toot's Riddim). I usually
dance with him when I visit and he likes's his new tape with moodier
instrumentals and forays into other dance musics as well. His favorites
seems to be the Boyoyo Boys' "Back in Town" and "Pulakwani (sp?) Centre". I
would like to add that the many of you should look into the Boyoyo Boys.
The sax would fit into any acid jazz genre but the rhythms and guitar are
definitely South African ( jit/township jive ). Simple but long lasting music.

As I am rambling hopelessly off acid jazz, I'd be interested in opinions of
this list on the Outernational Meltdown series.

Peace,

J Wes
