I agree, with what Juan Carlos is saying and as well support Candy's thoughts
on this issue being a little bit too played out. As a longtime member to this
list and also an ENTHUSIASTIC supporter of getting visibility to many of your
shows and demos by posting to my worldwdie web sites. I want to see the
discussions and listings of "performance artists" (musicians and quality level
DJ's included in that title), hot picks and thoughts of the audiences to our
music styles (without that we all would be missing what the pulse is, and how
some of us as Music professionals can bring those needs to the audience).

With the constant clutter of our in-boxes the people who spread a "Labelling
thread" too far (beyond that of a "I think this, but share your perspective
with me today" type thread) only make it real hard for those of us who want
to read all and digest the info, then jump in proactively to help get some
of us recognized. I can't push regional shows, pass along our lists recommends
of new releases for air play, etc. And believe me I am not the only one on
this list that is in the background using your mails to help get someone a
leg up. As a member of the San Francisco chapter of the Academy of Recording
Arts & Sciences (Grammy folks) I feed a lot of this info to the various members
out here that own labels, run studios (big and established or small, but serving
the alternatives), and book clubs/venues.

Bottom line: The labelling crap and trying to figure out where the stuff came
from is boring and not relative to what we are doing, unless your are mailing
factual music history. Let's get back to the threads on what our sounds ARE
and where we play them, and what sounds we hear and want others to know about.
Otherwise, some of us will just push off and find people who congregate for
the sake of getting our music out to the people, or helping each other be
better audience to it.

Let's get the club listings, recommends, and posting of your web pages back
on this airway.
