Speaking of dope hip-hop, has anybody peeped "B-Boy Antics" from Lewis
Parker? I think its on Bite It records. That Tony D is decent, but this
EP is the bomb. Every track has some golden sample and fat beat. A bit
like Tek 9, but not as developed. There are instrumentals on one side (I
guess for all the "trip-hoppers") and then same versions with lyrics on
the flip. This one cut has these lushy soundtrack strings, super-romantic
shit, and out of nowhere this fatass beat drops in. A sound I've never
heard before.
Oh, and another subsidiary of Fat City is Scenario records. Just
picked up two nice releases (styles fluctuate)- Stepp and Freakniks. Nice
stuff. Those Fat City people know whats up.
