Jazz artists biogs on the Net

Hi people,
Can anyone out there give me the addresses of some good web sites where I
can access comprehensive biogs of Jazz Artists. There seems to be so much
Jazz stuff out there that it would take me ages to come across some really
good sites, so I was wondering if anyone on the Acid Jazz mailing list could
help me. Artists in particular that I'm looking for are: Alice Coltrane,
Roland Kirk, Don Cherry, Herbie Hancock, Pharoah Sanders+ anyone else on the
Avant-garde funky Jazz tip.
I had a look at a Roland Kirk site but I didn't feel that it gave much
history or depth to the great man, unless you already knew a fair bit about
him.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated,
