I replied to Eva and Phil directly earlier, but here goes again:

I think we have been through this a couple of times on the list? We
all agree the term acid jazz once was useful, and even maybe had a
genre of its own for a short while. Now, acid jazz (or whatever) has
been influenced by so much that there's absolutely no solid core
left.

However, it still serves as a name for us who are on the list. Calling
the list 'funky, groovy, spacey electic jazz with hip hop' doesn't
make it more accurate, nor better... (IMHO). What I'm saying is that I
don't see a possible "good" name. Maybe I'm wrong. What would a
possible name be?

I don't consider myself to have the ruling on the name in any way, but
would a new name really change the list? I think the effort is not
worth the practical difficulties that goes with a change.
