Re: London?, Berlin?, Madrid?

I speak as no kind of expert, but it seems to me that the London scene is
still alive and kicking. There's been plenty of gigs recently I've regretted
missing, and the ones I get to always introduce me to something new. The
clubs are playing plenty of music that's down listees' street, and there's
some intriguing things happening on the borders between straight(er) jazz
and street(er) sounds.

And from what I hear through my office window (overlooking Camden market),
there is no shortage of invention, nor any loss of respect for the old style
groove.

I can't speak for anything north of Watford, but there was a fine sort of
slinky funky, art-noisy, electronic groove style event down at the Cybar in
Brighton a couple of weeks ago (Avatar, anyone?).

That's enough from me about London. Can anyone tell me what's going on in
Berlin on the weekend of 25th October, or in Madrid between 13th and 17th
November?

Ta very much,

Alex S
