That's my point - they first listened to Crap Rap, and anytime they hear
any kind of syncopated street rhythm with "some 'street hoodlum' shouting
stuff they can't understand but will assume it's filthy anyway" sets off a
Pavlovian response of, "Rap= Bad." At this point, listening to Quality
Hip-Hop unfortunately will do very little to deprogram them.

On the other side of the coin, my first exposure to rap came in the form
of the Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, and Run-DMC, and so I've
learned to filter out the horrible stuff, as I'm sure most of us here can.
