Yeah the go-go music scene was described to me by a friend from Howard as
the song "Doin' Da Butt" (from Spike Lee's School Daze film) over and
over again. I guess I jumped too soon on Miami Bass. They did make people
get up and dance. Hey I was and still am a fan of Latin Hip Hop (also
called Freestyle) and some of those songs can be also out there. The
usual reason for bad dance music is not the music style but the DJs and
producers. Bad talent.

I'm not from Miami, nor am I a fan of the Miami Bass sound.....but we
have in DC a similar scene around Go-Go bands/producers. I spent most of

my youth slagging it off and avoiding anybody affiliated......years later

i try and give credit where credit is due and ignore the crap. I'm just
impressed that these guys created and maintain their very own scene
independent of the rest of the music industry..... Mad props/respect to
them even though 2/3rds of the tracks just plain suck....
