bought some new stuff the other day.... here goes first impression:

Black Science Orchestra - Walters Room (JBOCD5)
Havent seen it before so this was an unexpected surprise. Just as good
as I hoped. Kinda strange stuff really. Nothing really sticks but still
marvelous tunes. Extremley danceable but still no really outstanding
tracks. The beats are the main thing... the sounds remind me of a modern
more "disco" version of SoulIISoul=B4s earlier stuff (some might hate me
for this). Anyways.... real nice stuff... but I dont know why really...

Various - Back To Mono (WallCD002)
Not new at all. Released 1995 from Wall of Sound and I guess many of=20
you have heard it. For the others, just get it. This is excellent stuff
somewhere on the border between abstract-jazz, techno and a-j... excellen=
t
tuners from The Wiseguys, Agent Provocateur and Artery.... a must...

Alex Reece - So Far (BRCD 621/524 265-2)
So, its finnally release about a month ago. The long awaited (for me at
least) drum=B4n=B4bass album from mr.Reece. This is very soft and laidbac=
k,
even soulful, jungle from one of the best IMHO. For you who liked the lat=
est
EBTG album this is a must. Here you got jungle for late evenings and
candle light dinners :). Soft, pure, groovy and above all - enegetic...

Various - Metalheadz Platinum Breakz (828.783.2)
Double album collecting the latest and best of the no doubt leading drum=B4=
n=B4bass
label at the moment.... 17 killer jungle tracks with lots of surprises.
Hard to define anything from the other during the first listenings. But
still - it rocks.

Various - Live At the Social Vol2 mixed by Jon Carter (HVNLP15CD)
Everybody knows what it is I guess? If not... wake up :) The second comin=
g
from the Heavenly posses mix-series. This is IMO not as good as the first
take from the ChemBros, but it still is a must investment. Lots of ragga =
and
ska influences here but all beautifully mixed with a definite touch to it.
21 songs wich includes artists like David Morales, Ballistic Bros., Mekon=
,
Kenny Dope and Shabba Ranks (?!?).

LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression (828 739-2)
Another 2CD killer jungle release. 18 songs choosen by LTJ Bukem. Not onl=
y
his own stuff but also a lot of other gems on the album. As with the Meta=
lheadz
it is hard for me to define the stuff from eachother without a lot of lis=
tenings.
But it is highly recommended to check it out....

Various - Give'em enough dope vol3 (WallCD010)
Wall of sound continues there excurtions in the most important releases
during the year. Absolute marvelous stuff for all the freakz of abstract
beatz. What amazez me the most is the tracks from Ballistic Brothers (Per=
fect
Day) and Q-burns Abstract Message (Mess of Afros). This is a collection o=
f
songs that is very broad. You can for example find the hip-hop sound of t=
he=20
Ballistics mixed with the more techno (oldschool rythtms though) style of
Tiny Stuss (Autosuggest) who really knows how to fuck up a bassline. To t=
op
it all of you got a most outstanding treatment of drum=B4n=B4bass rythms =
from
Jacobs Optical Stairway.

Well... that was about it.... the wallet is as good as empty again....
Hope this might be interesting for some of you :)
