Yo Funky People

I just wanted to let you all know that although we celebrate Black
History Month 365 days/year , that we have in fact made some updates at
the P*Funk Review web site at http://pages.prodigy.com/funk/ to
reflect some of the Funky things that have been happening over the past
month or so.

It's been updated to include:

1. Transcript of the "Erykah Badu Listening Party" chat we did with
graphics (including the intro to "Next Lifetime" playing in the
backround). This is likely to be the most detailed and comprhensive
review of this album (serious "3am FUNK") you will probably see anyplace
on the net.

2. A new page with graphics discussing the new Jimi Hendrix release this
month " First Rays Of The New Rising Sun" with backround sounds of the
remake of "You Got Me Floating" - PM Dawn.
This is the release some 25 years after the fact of the album that the
original "brotha from another planet" was working on at the time of his
tragic death. A major event in history of FUNK music to be sure pick up
the album if you can when it is released later this month !!

3. What is FUNK part 2 - an outstanding essay written by our friend
"funksha", accompanied by the voice of Malcolm X. If you see "funksha"
hanging around in chat be sure to give her some props for a job well
done !!

4. An Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for the web site. with
backround sounds of Donald Byrd's "Think Twice". This FAQ page was
complied from past comments & observations made by many of you about the
P*Funk Review web site. We thought that the best way for folks out on
the net was for all of you to collectively define it for them.

5. Minor updates to some of the artists pages (more backround sounds and
graphics).

6. The "Black History Month" material is still out there for ya, you
will find it listed in a category entitled "Funk Culture". We will be
adding to it over time as well.

7. A new (old) front page design hopefully making navigation of the site
a bit easier.

Let me know what yall think ?
You can send me an email right from the site with your thoughts by
simply clicking on any of the email icons located at the bottom of each
page

Also for those of you who were unaware the web site recieved an award
for the second time in less than six months from the EUR, as it was
named website of the day on Feb 7, 1997. Here is what the EUR said:

>Funk lovers, have we got a website for you. Get the latest info on
funk stars and funk history.
>You can find out things like the relationship between funk and civil
rights, funk and women, funk and black power and a whole lot more.
>Point your browser to: http://pages.prodigy.com/funk/

peace
