Chronicle
"pushing the limits of new jazz" The San Francisco Bay Guardian

Saturdays at 330 Ritch Street the Solo Series enters its fourth orbit around
San Francisco's thriving jazz scene, and will once again point the spotlight
on a crew of key musicians who have helped steer the music forward. Each
night, the series will showcase four of the most gifted young saxophonists,
vocalists, brass players, and percussionists who have helped represent the
Bay Area jazz community on the national and international scene.

I. Saxophone August 16
II. Vocals August 23
III. Brass August 30
IV. Percussion September 6

The 4th annual Solo Series carries on in the innovative tradition laid down
by the first 3 years as an event where you can hear and experience the
multi-faceted and deep-rooted jazz styles of the Bay Area -- from Afro-Cuban
to hard-bop, heavy funk to hiphop -- in their pure, creative states.
