Sometimes influences can be direct.......but sometimes they are indirect
!!

As it happens I am VERY familair with the part of Long Island (Roosevelt
, Freeport, Hempstead, Uniondale) where De La Soul comes from.......
there is quite a bit more "violence" there than an outsider might ever
imagine
