If you like electronic side of the beats I recommend the Les Rhythmes
Digitales ep "Kontakte/Tropicano" [Wall of Sound, UK]. Its Fila Brazilla
with a slightly more narrative feel (less abstract). The only problem is
that its just two songs.

I also recommend Coldcut's "Atomic Moog 2000/Boot the System" 2x12" highly
[Ninjatune, UK]. I did not like the original version of "Atomic" that much
but the "Full Speed Mix" and "Bullet Train Edits" are quite good. The
flipside includes decent mixes by Luke Vibert and the Herbalizer. "Boot
the System" has a bit of 70's funk feel (in a 90's kind of way) and
includes voice processed vocals. Red Snapper is brought along for "Reboot
the System" and Bedouin Ascent do two mixes on the flipside (I bit
disappointed with the latter). Anyway, an excellent value. Did anyone
else get mislabeled 12"s ("Atomic" label on "Boot" and vi subversa)??

Who does the "sacred space" mix of Lamb's "God Bless"? This is my favorite
at the moment despite its age.

Bassbin Twins vs. Skinnt EP is pretty good for those who like some
impressive quick mixing. I was expecting more (I liked Bassbin Twins mixes
before and I love Skinnt and Fatboy Norman--maybe he just did not throw
enough Bentley's into it for my taste).

I just got the Wiseguys "Executive Suite" and will review next week.

Peace,

Jim
