Let's all calm down and not post anymore about Matthew Peyton's
(and CK Smart's) mail. I think most things have already been said, and
that further discussion doesn't lead us to a solution.
Personally I think Matthew should have posted to *me* if he really
thinks things are going that bad. This is not a comment to dis'
Matthew, but to let other people know that they should bring their
complaints/problems to the admin, and avoid unnessessary posts to the
list.
And, as said earlier, ck smart has over the years been perhapes THE
best provider of Acid Jazz information on this list! This does make his
posts relevant to the list.
However, I am in the process of configuring a digest mirror (which
will be a separate read-only list) that compiles the traffic on the
original acid-jazz mailing list into one per-day mail. When I have it
working I'll let you know, so don't mail me about this yet please...
If anyone out there is an expert on digest servers, and have a
network connection to give away, I'm interested in hearing from you. I
would like to have someone else to run the digest as I'm unsure
whether I myself can handle the load and maintenace. The list has
today 450 subscribers and there is about 10-20 mails per day. This
could add up to considerable amounts of mails and quite heavy machine
load.
OBaj: I got a mix tape from David Grey <davidg@logal.com>, a DJ who
spins at SOLITAIRE'S in Boston. According to himself he's spinning
"classic jazz, funk and soul along side modern acid jazz, trip hop,
hip hop, progressive soul and slow breaks". The mix tape is just
excellent! It's very smooth and consistent.
