Well, Well.... turn my computer on after a short break through the christmas
period and all you creative people have come up with the best idea I have
heard yet off the internet. All I can say is make like a nike ad and lets
JUST DO IT.!! I am a musician and Dj from Ausralia and I also run my own
promotions buisiness. My real musical love started with hip hop, and I have
delved deeply into dance and eclectic house, but my heart lies always with
acid -jazz. Presently I am doing the promotions in my state for the ONE
FESTIVAL which is to be the biggest outdoor gathering that dance music (in
all it's genre's) Australia has ever seen. It will be held just outside
Sydney on Feb. 14,15,16.
Ironically my flatmate who is a classically trained musician with a degree
in music technology is in the process of doing the CD compilation for the
event which involves taking all submissions from DAT right through to the
finished product CD.
I ran the idea past her and to our knowledge production costs for the
product would be as cheap if not cheaper in Australia (exept for
vinyl-unsure??)so
if someone is needed for this part of the production I would gladly offer
my services, and would be happy to start getting quotes together.
As for all the organizng pre this stage however, I dought I would have the
time or the tech knowlegde to setup the real audio sample voting sight etc
etc.
that's it for now, I look forward to more feedback on the issue, props to
anyone who supports this idea ....spread the word,
