hi,

quincy jones' version of "summer in the city" is available on a comp called
"beginning digging" that i bought at ameoba records in berkeley several
months ago. it seems to have no clear label affiliation, but contains a
killer track by minnie riperton and goodies from other funky folks of the
70s and 80s.

i have also heard "summer in the city" sampled by a jazzy-hip-hop band
called justice system-- a really nice record from about 3 years ago--
anyone else own that album? and whatever happened to them?
