Right. Going from (a poor) memory:

The Deep Cops single is pretty good. The first side starts with
the bass line from Jaws that we all know and love. Lots of
screams and splashing water in the background. Then a nice
breakbeat drum rhythm kicks in over the top. The second side is
pretty cool as well. Well worth a buy if you like
pussyfoot/skint/wall of sound stuff.

The Viennatone release is a double album (well, on vinyl it is,
and that's what counts ;) ) of, I assume, Austrian artists in
the Kruder and Dorfmeister mould. There are seven tracks in all,
including a K+D remix of a Count Basic track, though I'm not
sure of this is off the Count Basic remix album that was
mentioned on the list a couple of weeks ago. All the songs are
of the same ilk, but that doesn't mean that they all sound the
same. It's quite mellowish drum and bass, without so much bass,
if you know what I mean. My favourite track (at the mo') is the
first track on side three which has a sample of the Borg used
effectively (no I'm not a trekkie, it's just a good sample. Not
that there is anything wrong with being a trekkie ;) ). I can't
remember who it is by. If you like mellow drum tracks then buy
this. It is a good record.
If you like the Viennatone record, then it may be worth
checking out the new release(s) on the Cup of Tea label from
Bristol. Statik Sound System have brought out two 12"s.It is
really a double E.P. First slab is the "Essential Times E.P"
(COT35), with four tracks (I think). The second slab is
"Free to choose" (COT36) which has three tracks (possibly),
including a remix of Essential times. Both records are good,
with decent drums, nice bass, and good vocals.

That's all for now,

Paul
