FYI, the Little Axe remix on DOP4 sounds a lot more like the remixers
(Pressure Drop) than the original artist. Little Axe is a blues/dub
fusion project from the On-U Sound posse (aka Tackhead). Their first
album, THE WOLF THAT HOUSE BUILT (Wired UK/Epic US), is a successful
blending of old blues recordings, newly-recorded vocals, and ambient/
dub production techniques. Their second album, SLOW FUSE (Wired UK/
no US release), drops most of the samples and smooths out the blues
influences into a more "radio-friendly" sound that is less interesting,
IMHO. The original version of the DOP4 track ("Ride On") comes from
the first Little Axe album.
