I am a promoter in the Boston area, and we are looking for live bands
and DJ's who specialize in Acid-Jazz, Fusion-Jazz, Retro-Funk-Groove-Jazz(Old
70's prono funk jazz ya dig.?), "trip-hop", Jungle-Jazz, or anything that can
fall into these categories. Performers are needed for this spring. Please
contact me if you are interested or need more info. Acid-Jazz has been
around for awhile as you all know, now it is time to be heard and educate the
masses.
Also I was curious if you think Erykah Badu is a foot in the door for
"acid-jazz" in the mainstream, in my opinion that is a yes. Also you should
check out the Sweetback cd, it is Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale, and Paul S.
Denman of SADE. Another Good cd worth checking out is Mushroom Jazz mixed by
DJ Mark Farina on OM Records.
