George Benson's album was called "Breezin'", a decent if light jazz/pop/soul
album. According to some figures I saw in a book (don't recall the name),
"Head Hunter" is still the #1 selling "Jazz" album of all time. Of course,
your definition of it being a jazz album depends, I suppose, but I think most
jazz from that era wasn't strictly in the jazz vein. That's the beauty of the
music, though, I think.

The first Headhunters was considered to be the best-selling jazz album of its
time. Anyone know if these numbers were ever exceeded within the genre?

The liner notes to George Benson's Dreamin' (I think that's the title, it's
the one with This Masquerade and the song you always hear in supermarkets),
say that it was and still is the best selling jazz album of all time. Of
course, it's not really jazz IMHO, but it may be relevant to this discussion.
