If you like funky music, you gotta git this record man! I dropped the needle
on this little gem and after about 1.5 seconds, I knew I needed it. The
"Midsummer's Bass Mix " starts with the funkiest little crunchy bass line
I've ever heard in a house track. I swear I bout lost my mind. then some
mellowed out perverted jazz guitar comes in, as the funk expands into a way
ontoppa the beat house shuffle. It also contains a little b3-ish organ, and
a prince sample (I think its prince, it sounds like a little "Oooh!" from
the beginning of "when doves cry" )
the second mix on this side is nice, but way pale by comparison to the first
mix. (sans bass line that made the first track)
The flipside has one of those long-ass morning mixes that covers the whole
side. (I love it when they do that) It contains many of the same elements of
the funky track on the other surface, but way more subdued.

Artist: Electric Imbalance Allstars
Title: "All f*cked up"
Label: Acid?

The freaks remix on here is really nice. they took a funky disco thing and
fed the whole mess through a freak filter. The results are a miasma of funky
tweak that mixes real smooth, and goes down easy. This track moves around
enough to be real funky even without the filter thing, which I see becoming
a little overused.

Peace,
