well, I thought I'd just throw out this little mini-review of
Squarepusher's "Hard Normal Daddy" and see what everyone else thinks.

THis album is awesome. It takes the idea introduced on his first album
(crazy crazy crazy drums, live bass, jazzy) but is much more successful.
I felt that a lot of the tracks on "Feed Me Weird Things" simply got away
Mr. Jenkinson; the drums were too over the top for anyone to keep up with
(for instance everytime the hyper-drive drum rolls came in and stopped
sounding like actually drums). However, Jenkinson has much more controll
on this one. Those hyperspeed drum rolls are still here, though not as
much and not as high in the mix either. Overll the whole album is a lot
more varied than the last one as well. about half of it is that patented
squarepusher sound, at its best, but the real high points are track 7 (I
believe) when he jumps into a hip hop style song (very busy and still
jazzy and probably the most aggressive song on the album) and "Vic Acid" is
probably the closest thing I've heard yet to a Jungle Anthem. Its awesome!
This album is a must have.

by the way does anyone know what the other songs are on the vic acid EP?
totally new songs? remixes? just wondering.
scott!
