A dj last night was spinning a track with a nice vocals. I asked who and
he showed me the label. This was EARLY in the evening, so I'm not sure if
I remember it right but I believe it was a group called Silk 130 and the
track was something like "get involved" or "you got to get involved" with
the female vocalist repeating this phrase a lot. He told me who the
vocalist was, but I was next to the speakers and couldn't catch the name.
Anyone know this one?

Anyway, this was before the Greyboy Allstars played. These guys are
tight. Karl Denson does some great stuff with the sax and flute, as well
as vocals. Some funked up jazz. They've got a new CD, "A Town Called
Earth," on their own Greyboy label (but no connection with DJ Greyboy at
this point). The CD isn't really out for general distribution yet but I
guess you can find out more from their web site at:
www.greyboyallstars.com. These guys are on tour, obviously, so you might
want to see if they've posted a schedule and will be in your area. It was
a great weekend, hearing two fine and funky bands (Galactic the night
before) here in north central Florida.
