Hello all. I used to live in South Florida, USA and moved to
Pennsylvania to do my graduate work. The one major downfall of living in
a small college town is that there are no record stores here with new
vinyl. As a result I need to buy all my records through mail order --
often without being able to listen to them first. Consequently, I've
bought plenty of hits but along with those also several misses. OK,
bitching over... :)

Before I came up here I picked up ETA's single sided "Casual Sub". It
doesn't have a record label and the only thing etched out on the flip
side is: "ETA are two ?????es and an englishmam". I can't make out what
comes before the "es" b/c the white label is covering it up. Does
anybody have any info on ETA? Any other releases worth picking up by
them? I really like "Casual Sub". If I had to label it (damn I hate
that), I'd say it's most along the lines of minimalist digi-funk.
Excellent track.

Today I was looking through the new "Jockey Slut" and on page 74 there is
an ad for a comp called "FSUK: Future Sound of the United Kingdom". The
ad reads:

28 funky cuts from the UK's Big Beat Scene
Mixed by Derrick Dahlarge.
2XCD - 2XMC - 3XLimited Edition Unmixed Vinyl.
Featuring: Leftfield, Underworld, The Charlatans, Howie B,
Orbital, The Propellerheads, Coldcut, ETA, The Mighty Dub
Kats...

Has anybody heard this comp? Any reviews? Tracklisting? All info is
greatly appreciated in the rocksubmerged/dancing impaired town of State
College, PA USA.

Peace,

Pedro Cevallos
