Yeah, God bless him. Like the world really needed FUNKCRONOMICON.

Nope, this project is definitely happening. There was a lot of anxiety
resulting from its announcement on rec.music.bluenote, as well as on the
Kozmigroov mailing list. Me, I can't believe that Sony and/or the Davis
Estate would consider Bill Laswell to be a superior choice to Teo Macero
(give a listen to "Go Ahead John" from BIG FUN for an example of some heavy
remixing, circa 1974!) or John "Plunderphonics" Oswald. BTW, the initial
word from Axiom Central mentioned something about "added synthesizer", which
struck me as being kind of assuming, to put oneself in the company of
Herbie, Chick and Zawinul after the fact.

I'd think so-- I mean, it's essentially my definition of the perfect acid
jazz. Speaking of which, I heard this amazing track the other day-- it had
a nice 'n' thick downtempo beat and some whack live horn solo. Any ideas
(or recommendations of similar artists?)
