I love lamb and I love Portishead. When I heard stuff from Olive, I
thought that I absolutely had to have it. I liked it at first, her
voice is just like a lounge singer yet it rings out like Bjork, but the
music I thought was a little to close to pop. Lamb and Portishead both
stay close to some jazz and 70's groove styles while Olive tends to go a
dance/pop direction. I don't know if that answers your question
directly, it is just my opinion on the subject.
As an aside, when Portishead came through Dallas, which put on a
very, very impressive show, had a hip hop DJ open up for them. I was
impressed with him too. Does anyone know anything from this guy?
