DELTA NOVE
(Formerly FIYA BAHL)
Delta Nove (pronounced NO-VAY) is a Long Beach based band founded in
1996 as "Fiya Bahl". The 11-piece started by playing Funkadelic, Rufus,
Sly, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Frank Zappa, and the Meters with a hint of
acid jazz and LOTS of PERCUSSION bringing high energy funk music to the
L.A. music scene. Members of the band have performed with SANTANA,
MICKEY HART, BOB WEIR, BRUCE HORNSBY, BOBBY CALDWELL, RICKY MARTIN,
SAMBA NOVA, SHEILA E., ZAKIR HUSSAIN, GIOVANNI HIDALGO, MEMBERS OF LOS
LOBOS, HOT TUNA, AND STOMP. Two and a half years later, it has evolved
into a 7-piece ensemble playing original world-beat, funk, and jazz
consisting of drums, percussion, bass, guitars(all kinds), samplers,
effects, light-blue hair, sax's, & trumpet. They all sing, they all
play percussion, and they are all about a good time.
This hodge-podge of a concoction of musicians have just released their
first self-produced CD entitled, "Fiya Bahlin'". A short but tasty
display of their groovy element as well as a diversity of sound from a
diverse source of players....the source called "DELTA NOVE".........
"Fiya Bahlin'" can be found in TOWER-BUENA PARK, (all of the) COOL STUFF
RECORDS in Orange County, FINGERPRINTS-LONG BEACH, our mail order, and
our shows!!!!!!!!
