an alternative to URB?

hey all, wondering if you could help me out here...

I've been subscribing to URB for a while now, about a year or so, and I'm
finally fed up with it. THe artists and musical spectrum it covers is
EXACTLY what I am looking for in a magazine (i.e. hip-hop and drumnbass
together), but the writing for that magazine is some of the poorest I've
ever read, and I really feel like I'm being shafted when I read it. (for
instance the newest issue had great artists like thr x men, scratch
piklz, and beat junkies, but all I gleaned from the articles was that the
x men like their new album, one of the piklz trips, and the beat junkies
like porn movies...great.)

so, what I'm looking for is a magazine that coever pretty much exactly
what URB covers...underground hip hop and drumnbass...but is actually
informative, well written, and possibly a little more technical in its
talk of DJs and DJ culture. Any suggestions?
I seem to remember a number of listees raving about some magazine during
the polls earlier this year, in which every single person said "is there
aeven any contest?" but I don't recall what the name of the magazine was.
Does anyone know what Im talking about? if you do, what does that
magazine cover?

thanks to anyone who can help...sorry if this not music related.
