Black Eyed Peas-Behind The Front -2LP US

can you really compare it to Arrested Development, because I've been longing to hear that sound again. anyone with a description/review of this album. I haven't found anything by them here yet.

Folks, the Black Eyed Peas throw down jazzy hip-hop shiznit and will blow up and rule the world.
As for the Arrested Development thing, I'm not really sure about that (though BEP's lead man Will.I.Am (aka Will-1-X) has a comparable vibe of consciousness and vision as AD's Speech), but if you like The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest , De La Soul and The Pharcyde (and I know most of you do :)), you will dig the Peas.

They're from Los Angeles and I'm proud to say I've seen them since the days when they played club dates around town and even showed up and flowed at the local underground hip-hop open mics. I'm even friends with Will.I.Am and Taboo, and share mutual friends with Apl.de.Ap. I've always believed they'd blow up and their album's release today signals the the beginning of the fulfillment of that.

I haven't heard the album (I'm going to pick it up in a matter of minutes :)), but I already know their material...they also have a 4-5 piece dedicated backing band (drums, bass, guitar, Rhodes, sometimes turntables) with the full-on jazz-funk vibe...Their material totally fits in with the spectrum of music on this list and they'll be the topic of many threads here for years to come. They pull off an amazing live show which is unequalled in hip-hop (and I'm not just saying that cos I know em), and from what I've already heard from the album, the recorded material is amazing as well.

All I'm really trying to say is:
Buy "BEHIND THE FRONT"! I guarantee you will *not* be disappointed.

I'm also gonna put together the very-first Black Eyed Peas fan website on the net, I'll try to get it done this week...I'm so excited about all this.
