Someone asked about this about 2 or 3 weeks ago... I asked a friend about
this, an this is what he said:

I do not think it is possible to store sysex on the mc-50. I was once told
that you could hit rec on a sequencer and then intiate a dump, and it
would store it as seq data but in practice this is incorrect. The Mc-50
freezes on datadumps with a buffer overload message. my advice to you is
to invest in a patch editor for your computer or an external rack-
hardware device such as a used alesis data disk for all of your sysex
dumping. I've seen these used for $200 and actually will probably be
selling mine at some point in the future. I own a mc-50, so any other
questions you have just ask.
