Trends??
It's definitely about taking influences/samples from African/Brazilian music
and mixing that with jazzy/funky house this year...I love it!
Also UK hip hop finally seems to have a breakthrough..
Another thing that will blow up this year (or already has) is the Asian
underground scene..I saw hundreds of vinyl copies at Virgin and HMV of
Talvin Singh's OK album.
There is a new type of recordbag, with velcrostraps as a shoulderbelt, you
can't leave home without one and of course ridiculously highpriced
streetwear that looks as it came from the eighties (f.e. the old square
Seiko watches) is a big hit this year...:) Look out for reissues of Duran
Duran albums and Bad Michael Jackson lookalikes...!
