Hi Listees,

Talvin Singh - OK. This album is going to be a classic, definitely one of my
favourites for 98. The way he mixes Asian music with violins, samples, jazz
and d&b is just amazing. can't stop playing it. please buy this...guaranteed
quality...

I heard a track from the new James Brown album on the radio today (Q radio,
excellent station in Holland btw). it made me sad and I think the man should
retire...I ran upstairs and put on a dusted 45 from the JB's and pumped it
till the neighbours started complaining. now that was James Brown! ....I've
been in a old funk/soul mood for the rest of the day, spinning old Mandrill,
Meters and Marvin Gaye...ah the early 70's! what a delight...they just don't
make it like that anymore, so raw 'n dirty...yeah I know I should shut up
about this :)

how about an oldies top ten of favorite tracks/albums? early 70's, US
funk/soul with vocals..... let's dig out those gems again
I will think on it and post it later on.

Pete Rock, the 12" with Kurupt was very tight and promising and I'm saving
up money to buy the lp....a living legend...I saw that it's hardly a
solo-album, a lot of people doin' the do there . Once again people are
raving over Inl, I am still trying to locate their work...grrr..

anyone heard the new Roots 12"? ai, time is running and I sure can use some
extra dose of it..school, work, it should all be forbidden by law!

cheers,
