Kevin, it was excellent.
I was down near the teepee (or tripod)
holding onto one of the poles for dear life.
It kept on swaying with the wind.

Bernardo kept on screaming to the ppl,
"Just chill, if the cops come, just be liquid..."

Of course, he was one of the 13 that were arrested.

One b boy just broke down in tears,
"Why are they doing this? This is so beautiful,
ppl just dancing in the streets.
Why are they doing this?"

The crowd was scooted over to near
Washington Sq. Park,
where the screaming at the pigs commenced.

Later, groups and crowds meandered over
to the 9th Precinct, on 5th St.
between 1st and 2nd,
where supposedly the 13 were kept.

We were misinformed.
Later, we marched down to the 6th Precinct
(nearby Delancey St.)
accompanied by a police motorcade on mopeds.

Screaming:
"2 4 6 8,
F*ck the police state."

"Hey Hey Ho Ho
Giuliani has got to go."

"No Peace,
No Justice."

And of course,
"Who's streets?
Our streets."

We waited until 8:30 pm
and most of our friends were released.

Three were kept over nite
(two were young females)
b/c they had to be carried off,
aka they "resisted arrest."

RECLAIM THE STREETS
is an international street party protest movement
that began in London 1995 and has since
traveled around the world - to Amsterdam,
Sidney, Tokyo, Prague, Helsinki, San Francisco,
and now, New York.

On May 16th of this year,
28 street parties in 19 countries
took place simultaneously.

Last year, over 20,000 ppl
took over London's Trafalgar Sq.
