ol> I missed the Virgin Record in-store in San Francisco. Did anyone catch

i caught the l.a. show--was i the only listee there?

it was pretty dope. i liked it a lot more than the album--something to be
said for catching a performance "live" rather than memorex!

apparently, shadow had some special dub-plates pressed up for the show so
that he could mess w/the music track or the vocal--which he did several
times
during the set. it was nice to see him do real-time remixes, it was a lot
more creative than merely hearing him beatmix the album tracks--and it felt
more like a real performance--to say nothing of some of his fierce
scratches!
when he would finish w/one of the unkle dubs (he did some transitions w/the
source material for some of the sampled intros) he would toss it into the
crowd--i was on the second floor, so i couldn't snag one.

"celebs" in attendance were cut chemist (wearing a quannum t-shirt--i'd
*really* like one of those!), carlos nino (kpfk), & deacon (presha crew)
--i'm sure there were others, but that's who i saw/recognized...
