i noticed that compost is one of the labels the main page is
spotlighting. on compost, check out the new forest mighty black -
mellowdramatic remixes with mixes by beanfield, rollercone, peshay, etc.
i would also recommend on k7 shantel's higher than the funk.

i heard a song off of an instinct compilation called sambado that
sounded really nice. speaking of jazzy, latin mixtures, i also heard
some smooth cuts from a sony comp called trip do brasil with tracks by
dj cam and others. heard about it from my informants in san francisco.
(other music doesn't have it. don't know where you can pick it up in
nyc.) glad to hear cam has not abandoned his likes for jazz, drum n
bass -- was beginning to think he was going to only focus on his
musical interests in hip-hop after hearing his beat assasinated album.

also, absolut has a site now called absolut dj. i haven't been into it
because you have to download a lot of stuff, but apparently u.f.o.,
coldcut, and spooky are the artists that they are focusing on for the
launch of the site. they held a party for the launch of the site with
spooky, ebn, u.f.o. broadcast from london, etc. great visuals...i'm
sure the site is worth checking out. i believe the site address is is
at www.absolutdj.com. spooky and his band are touring over the next few
months for the launch of the site -- they may be coming to a town near
you.

two separate drum n' bass cd's -- micky finn and aphrodite are now both
available on the mixmag live series. they should have them up in the
listening stations at hmv/tower.

peace,
caron
