Black Star was fun. I could not get into N'Dea
Davenport, though!! She just didn't move me.

However, I was moved by all the incredibly beautiful
people in the park...the gods and *goddesses*!!! came
down for a stroll on Saturday. =D

Argo and I came up from Philly to check it out, and
actually my favorite part of the day was finding an
impromptu drum and dance session just a way from
Summerstage. We got bored and hot and started walking
around, and heard drums, so naturally we followed
them. I think it was a group of Senegalese drummers,
with some guests who looked American. That was
incredible!! Nothing like live African drumming, and
some amazing dancing. People from the crowd were
jumping in left and right with their own amazing
styles and soul. The jam lasted for a few hours at
least, everybody totally feeling it, with people
getting chinese massages for $10 a pop in the
courtyard area, kids getting silly in the fountain,
and people doing capoeira on the lawn. Hey Argo, care
to continue the story with your impressions?
