2 turntables and a trumpet! Twilight in Indiana

A friend of mine scammed me onto this flier for a
3-day camping party in central Indiana last weekend.
I love Indianapolis! I won't go into a long and drawn
out review. Rather, here's a selected snippet that
ought to make you smile. :)

I opened on saturday night right after sundown.
couldn' have picked a better time. Things went well.
The kids were digging that this junglist wasn't
playing techstep. ;P But, oh my, about 3/4 of the way
through my set, I look down, and there's a saxophone
at my feet.

Um, huh???

I look up and there's a boy with a trumpet setting up
a mic. He plays a couple warmup notes over the
system, and I know it's time to go _jazzy_. :)

I pull out some things and some things and it all
comes down to a disjointed drummy jazzed out dillinja
tune with a macy gray acapella over top and the boy
with the horn is feelin' it too, dropping laid back
solos over top of the growing wibbliness of the night.
Oh yes!! His set was pretty interesting, too. He
played a lot of techno and tech house with live sax
and trumpet over top. Not quite what I expected, but
great to see people breakin out nonetheless. but I
can't remember his name!! (there's a lot I can't
remember... ;) I'm seeking out a tape so I'll let ya
know if it moves me.

so like, that's my story. sorry it's a little
anti-climactic. :)

officially re-christened dj99
(and my christening dress is a tee shirt from walmart
found by accident on friday that happens to say 99 on
the front ;)
