No! Simply running an audio out cable from your computer to DAT won't cut it.
Your Computer audio is digital, and so is your DAT, but when it turns into an
audio signal, it has to convert to analog and you get noise.

Make sure your soundcard has a digital SP/DIF output jack. If it does, connect
that (using a good quality "high definition" RCA cable to the digital (or
SP/DIF) IN of your DAT. That way, your audio stays digital and doesn't degrade
in quality.
