The Wire articles has a short article, just scroll to the link for
Arthur Russell (there is loads of other stuff besides)

http://www.dfuse.com/the-wire/outfr.htm

I have the Go Bang 12" by Dinosaur L and Is It All Over My Face? by
Loose Joints (from The Loft album on Nuphonic). Both are Arthur Russell
collaborations and both funk like there's no tomorrow. I heard a couple
of years ago that Talkin Loud were to release an Arthur Russell
compilation but nothing has happened so far.

Anyone on the list making music for the dancefloor should try and give
Go Bang a listen. A fat rhythm section with crazy wailing vocals.
Absolutely classic!

Subject: Dinosaur L/Arthur Russel?

I was just checking out Gilles Peterson's playlist from the Radio1 web
site,
and he listed "Authur Russel - 'See The Light' - (White)" (I believe he
meant Arthur?). Anyways, one of the Mr Bongo guys told me that Arthur
Russel
is the same person as Dinosaur L.

I've only heard two songs from the late Dinosaur L, Go Bang (which I'm
sure
all of you are familiar with) and "Clean on your bean" (which is quite a

strange track that doesn't get played very often, although I still like
it).
Just wondering if any of you know anything about this Arthur Russel
release. Is it an old track? Is it a remix? Is Arthur Russel not
Dinosaur L,
and hence, still alive? If anyone has any information on this, or
information on Dinosaur L in general, I'd appreciate it. Thanks,

Adam
