    i agree, and i think it's because they start paying attention to what the
    magazines & MTV say about them. they start believing their own hype rather
    than seeking out sincere places to take their music. that's my opinion,
    anyway.

    the only source of music "news" and reviews that's worth it's weight these
    days is mailing lists like this one. you get the poop straight from the
    people that buy the records. let's not forget folks that the mainstream
    music press gets the music for free. hence the unjustified hype. make
    someone pay their own hard-earned money on tunes, and review content would
    probably change considerably in the press. of course there is that whole
    thing about advertising...
