    I would be VERY surprised if the MPC didn't do time stretching... I
    believe that it has the (fundimentally) the same guts as a 3000
    series akai, which would give it righteous time-stretch abilities :)

    I don't know the aforementioned break, but I have chopped up many a
    loop with an ensoniq sampler and it's pretty easy. It's important to
    conserve ram by choosing to do "memoryless" copies of your loops when
    you change your start and end points.
