I've never read any of his material before, but I just checked out his site,
and it does indeed make for very interesting reading. Like yourself, I can't
agree with most of his taste in music, but his take on the
"cognoscenti-oriented scenes (Detroit techno, deep house, acid
jazz/downtempo/Mo Wax/Talkin' Loud, etc)" seems to be spot on.. I
particularly like this so-called "cognoscenti-oriented scene" though, even
if there does exist a snobbish, elitist attitude.
